Winter Music Conference
The shape of the music business today is completely different then it was 10 years ago. As aspects change and shift, WMC makes great efforts to create a program that reflects the current climate of the Industry. This year is the 25th anniversary of the ever-popular Winter Music Conference. This International Fashion Festival is pretty much a big deal around here. Gorgeous models, upscale parties and lush clothing designs take over the greater Miami area for this spectacular event. The week starts off on Monday March 15th where the official welcoming party for the international designers, models and press is held. The Downtown Chicago Parade begins at 12:00 noon, on Saturday March 13th. The parade is held the Saturday before the actual calendar date of Saint Patrick’s Day which allows families to participate in the festivities without having to remove their children from school. Historians believe that the first St. Patrick’s Day Parade ever conducted in America took place in Boston in 1737, when the newly formed Charitable Irish Society held a brief procession up Tremont Street in honor of Ireland’s patron saint.
